When the driver of a pickup truck started off on a journey from Pennsylvania to New Jersey, that driver didn’t know there was an extra passenger stowing away for the 28-mile trip. That stowaway happened to be a cat hidden in the engine block.

The cat wound up riding fromĀ East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania to the Mars Chocolate North America plant in Hackettstown, New Jersey. That’s where Mars employees and the town’s public works department helped free the cat from the engine. Fortunately the cat is safe, although it’s about 28 miles from its home.
