Due to drought conditions, California tends to catch on fire every year with dry brush everywhere. So when Debi and Jeff Brusatori had to evacuate their Northern California home due to the Fork Complex Fire burning in Trinity County five days ago, they couldn’t find their tabby cat Ruthie Rosemary.

When the Brusatori family returned to their scorched property five days later, they heard a familiar “mew” from a under burned truck. Looking underneath, they found that Ruthie Rosemary had somehow survived.

Firefighters said the flames were hot enough to melt the aluminum parts of the truck she was found under, yet Rosemary only suffered singed eyebrows and whiskers.
