Ask most people about the Walt Disney version of “Cinderella” and you’ll likely hear about the glass slipper, the mean step sisters, and the mean stepmother. However Cinderella actually isn’t the sole focus of the movie but shares the screen with her friends the mice who live in her home.

Cinderella’s mice friends have all sorts of unique ways to travel and spy around the house, but the one obstacle they must overcome is Lucifer, the evil stepmother’s pet cat. Unlike other Disney cats, Lucifer is cunning and mean, but fat and sluggish, which gives Cinderella’s mice a chance to escape Lucifer’s attempts to catch and eat them.

The next time you watch “Cinderella,” notice that Lucifer and the mice take up close to half of the movie with Cinderella taking up the other half.
