Dog owners know how some dogs get sad when their owners have to go away to work or vacation. While cat owners claim that their cats may miss them too, the latest research shows that cats don’t need owners as much as dogs do.

Researchers at the University of Lincoln have concluded that cats, unlike dogs, do not need humans to feel protected, because they are capable of looking after themselves.

Cat expert Celia Haddon, author of Cats Behaving Badly and How To Read Your Cat’s Mind, said, “Cats are not pack animals, they don’t depend on other cats. So they are not going to depend on their owners. But it doesn’t meant that they don’t want to be around their owners. This shows that they really do.”
