A study from the Bronx Zoo and the University of Edinburgh in Scotland entitled “Personality Structure in the Domestic Cat (Felis silvestris catus), Scottish Wildcat (Felis silvestris grampia), Clouded Leopard (Neofelis nebulosa), Snow Leopard (Panthera uncia), and African Lion (Panthera leo)” (PDF) found that domestic cats had three types of personality traits: Dominance, impulsiveness and neuroticism.
That has led many to conclude that cats are secretly fearful of humans, which could lead to aggression against humans. Taken to the extreme, this could mean your cat is secretly plotting to overthrow your house and depose you as the household head.
If you think your car may be scheming behind your back, treat it nicely with plenty of toys and treats. Then make sure you do everything your cat wants so it won’t have a reason to eliminate you one day while you’re sleeping.
