During the holidays, there’s nothing quite like decorating a Christmas tree with ornaments and lights. Unfortunately all those blinking lights and shiny tinsel combined with dangling ornaments makes an enticing cat toy. That typically means tipped over Christmas trees or broken ornaments.

That’s why one family found an ingenious way to protect their Christmas tree from their cat, Storm. Instead of placing their Christmas tree on the floor within easy reach of the cat, they mounted their Christmas tree on the ceiling to keep it away from the cat.

Whether this defeats the cat’s natural instinct to destroy everything in sight, including Christmas trees, remains to bed seen, but it is a rather novel way to try and frustrate a cat.
