When Iraqi refugees fled their war-torn country and survived the treacherous sea voyage to Lesbos,Greece, they carried their cat, named Kunkush, the entire way. Somewhere in Greece among the other refugees, the family lost their cat.

Suva Al Alaf and her five children eventually relocated to Norway, thinking they would never see Kunkush again. Three days after they left Greece, volunteers at the refugee camp spotted the cat and cared for it. Suva’s brother soon learned about the volunteers searching for the cat’s family and knew it must be Kuinkush. That’s when volunteers helped reunite Kunkash with his family now living in Norway.
