Cat cafes are sweeping across North America and the latest city to get a cat cafe is Charleston, South Carolina. After a successful Kickstarter campaign raised more than $20,000 in just 29 days, owner Ashley Brooks said they will be signing a lease within the next two weeks.

“We’re still right on schedule for opening in August, all thanks to everyone who donated to our Kickstarter,” she said. “They’re the ones who really made it happen.”

Like most cat cafes, Pounce Cat Cafe will work with animal shelters to help socialize cats and allow them to be adopted by patrons. To read more about Charleston’s first cat cafe, click here.
