Many critics claim that animals, such as cats, don’t understand human language. Instead, they claim animals simply have no emotion or intelligence, which most likely means that these critics are the ones who really lack emotion and intelligence.
If you watch the video above, you can hear someone ask their cat, “Are you hungry?” Immediately, the cat responds by meowing. Most likely the cat heard this phrase before getting fed each time and correctly associates that phrase with food.
That shows that cats can understand human language enough to associate phrases with food and other pleasurable activities. If you still think cats and other animals can’t understand human language, you probably lack the intelligence to recognize this even if your cat spoke to you in fluent English, Mandarin, Arabic, and German.
