If you’ve seen the trailer for Key and Peele’s upcoming movie, you’ll know that it stars a cat. What you may not know is that the cat you see in one scene isn’t the same cat you may see in another scene.
Unlike human actors, cats are even more temperamental on the set of a movie and can’t always be relied on to do what they’re supposed to do. That’s why the studio used seven different kittens (that all look alike) to play the role of a single cat.
One cat specialized in meowing on cue while another one could stay still for long periods of time. By choosing the right cat that wanted to cooperate at any given moment, the director could get around a single cat’s temperament.
