Su Pallosu beach on the Mediterranean Italian island of Sardinia is the home of a colony of tame cats roaming the dunes, basking in the sun, playing with the waves and mingling with “cat-watching” visitors.

The beach is actually part resort and part cat sanctuary. Over a century ago, fishermen brought cats to the island to eliminate rodent infestations in their barracks. The cats have apparently remained there ever since, allowing tourists to enjoy their presence along the beach.

If your idea of fun is spending time on a beach with cats that may mistake sand for kitty litter, feel free to visit Su Pallosu beach soon.
