One trait of cats that horrifies many owners is when their pet goes outside, catches a bird or mouse, and then proceeds to leave its bloody carcass all over the floor after bringing the animal into the house.

Such a horror scene many remind people more of a serial killer than a fluffy pet. Now scientists believe that genetic engineering could remove the hunting instinct gene in cats. That would prevent them from bringing in bloody animals and ripping them to shreds right before your eyes.

Would you want a genetically engineered pet? If you refuse to eat genetically engineered crops, chances are good you wouldn’t want a genetically engineered cat either.
