Cats are like teenagers. All they want to do is eat, sleep, and ignore anything you try to make them do. For many cat owners, the biggest problem with cats (beyond the existence of the cats themselves) is their eating habits.
Cats often leave wet food out to dry and then complain their food isn’t fresh. More importantly they often spill their food all over the place, making a complete mess for you to pick up.
One simple solution is to use a placemat so all the spilled food winds up on the placemat that you can easily clean. Another solution is to get a bowl with higher sides to make it harder for the cat to knock food out of the dish. Still another solution is to stop feeding your cat ordinary pet food and hand feed it lobster, crab, and filet mignon instead while you go hungry.
