Barb Gansberg was in her bedroom one morning when she heard a knock at the front door, but was unable to answer it. She knew something was wrong in the house when her cat, Strider, entered the room and behaved oddly.

When she peeked out her bedroom door, she spotted two teenagers rifling through a desk drawer. When she screamed, the suspects fled.

While cats may not be as intimidating as dogs if a burglar breaks into a house, they can still alert people when something is wrong. Thanks to Strider, Barb Gansberg and her husband didn’t lose anything more valuable than a single wallet.
