In England, cats are allowed in pubs because it’s traditional. That means cats have long ruled in pubs around the country. Because cats and dogs have been regulars in pubs, they’re often loved (or tolerated) by patrons.

Now photographer Tim White and journalist Vicky Lane have created a photo book called “London Pubcats”, a book dedicated to all the cats that currently hang out at London pubs.

The idea for the book came from its eventual publisher, Andrew Humphreys, who discovered that the live-in cat of his favourite London pub, the Seven Stars pub on Carey Street, had passed away. Thats’ when he thought if he enjoyed pub cats so much, others might too.
