Cats are known to kill thousands of birds every year, so perhaps the birds have found a way to get revenge. In New York City, hundreds of cats are now being quarantined after catching the bird flu.

Fortunately the symptoms are generally mild, and include sneezing, coughing and runny eyes and noses. Even better, bird flu can’t transfer from a sick cat to a human so there’s little danger to cat owners although your cat may be miserable with the flu for a while.

If your cat is acting lethargic or odd, take it to a veterinarian for a check up. The health and well-being of your cat is obviously more important than anything else you may have going on in your life so remember, your cat comes first.
