The demise of used bookstores and the shuttering of many new bookstores not only deprived the world of books, but also deprived the world of bookstore cats. For some odd reason, many independent bookstores have cats that cheerfully roam the aisles while customers browse through the shelves.

Fortunately as specialized independent bookstores make a comeback, more cats have a chance to appear inside these new bookstores. After all, there’s nothing more relaxing than sitting in a comfortable chair with a good book when a cat crawls in your lap, sprawls across your open book, and keeps you from reading a thing.
