Otitis had to have his ears removed after developing Otitis externa, a condition that caused the feline to develop large cysts on his ears. Unfortunately, his previous owners were unable to afford care to treat the issue, which caused Otitis to lose his ears.

When his previous owners surrender him to the animal shelter, Feline Rescue Association of Baltimore covered the cat’s surgery and worked on finding him a forever home. Fortunately, Otitis found Molly Lichtenwalner, who had survived a serious car accident, which left her with severe anxiety. She found Otitis and together, the two of them helped save each other’s lives.
