Taxi driver Mohd Eliyas, 42, helped over 30 cats that were abandoned or injured. Although rescuing cats takes time away from looking for customers, he started his crusade to save cats when he spotted an abandoned sick cat.
After nursing the cat back to health in three months, he said, “That’s when I realised that maybe I can play a part to help all these needy cats.”
Because of his work rescuing cats, the Cat Welfare Society (CWS) and Pet Lovers Foundation honored him. This shows that just one person can make a difference in the lives of cats and people as well.
