Everyone knows that cats have taken over the Internet and now the feline world has moved beyond Earth and taken over Saturn’s rings as well. To identify large particles of Saturn’s rings, the crew on NASA’s Cassini spacecraft named the particles circling Saturn after popular cats like Fluffy, Garfield, Socks and Whiskers.

While these unofficial monickers are used instead of the usual scientific tagging, they may be temporary as well. That’s because the particles in Saturn’s rings are difficult to track and locate, just like real cats. Who knew that cats would one day make it into space?
