Most people adopt a cat and then learn to live with it. That usually means the cat rules the person’s life and the person must submit to it under fear of upsetting the cat. In this way, cats control their owners for life.

However, there’s a new way to see if a particular cat will get along with you. Called Feline-ality, the system color codes cats into three categories: green cats are adventurous and self-sufficient; orange cats are extremely companionable; and purple cats may be shy and in need of a patient owner.

Potential adopters fill out a questionnaire that assesses their needs and expectations from a feline companion. Based on their answers, Feline-ality can then match a person up with the right type of cat  that will know how to maximize its advantages over its human.
