Cats love to sink their claws in something and stretch. That’s why you need to choose your furniture carefully because you don’t want material that your cat will enjoy attacking.
Surprisingly, two materials that cats usually dislike include suede or a synthetic indoor-outdoor material. Of course metal folding chairs are the most cat resistant but may not look so great in your home.
Just remember that a good scratching post can keep cats away from furniture too but it’s best not to trust a cat so look for cat-resistant furniture instead.
