If you have a cat, you may go to bed at night and suddenly hear your cat running around like a maniac. That’s not because your cat is insane (although it may seem like it). The truth is that your cat has a biological reason for behaving like a nut.

Mikel Delgado, a postdoctoral fellow at the School of Veterinary Medicine at UC Davis, said, “One reason is that cats are naturally crepuscular, meaning active at dawn and dusk, which is when their natural prey (rodents) are active. Cats are not really nocturnal (a common misperception). So their internal rhythm just tells them, β€˜It’s time to get active and start hunting.’”
