Many people open their homes to stray cats so the animals can have a safe place to live. Unfortunately, there are more stray animals that need care than people available to care for them. If you happen to live in Chile, there’s now the güiña wildcat that has lost much of its home to farming.

The güiña wildcat is often considered a nuisance and a pest because it kills livestock, yet it’s half the size of a domestic cat. Even worse, it’s land is shrinking as humans encroach on its hunting grounds.

So perhaps someone in Chile can help protect these güiña wildcats from extinction. For all cat lovers, all types of cats deserve protection and a good home no matter where they might live.
