Here’s the problem with letting a cat outdoors. If you use a cat door, any animal can come in and out. If you open he door for the cat, then you have to open the door again when the cat wants to come back in. That’s why Arkaitz Garro, a software engineer living in Holland, found a better solution.
Using the Raspberry Pi computer, he trained it with facial recognition software to recognize the face of his cat. Now when his cat appears at the door, the computer alerts him so he knows to pen the door. No other animal will be recognized by the facial recognition software so Arkaitz doesn’t have to waste his time checking the door until his cat shows up.
