When fortune hunters rushed to the Klondike to search for gold, they hoped to strike it rich. Unfortunately, this bit of history is often ignored so that’s why there’s a book called “The Klondike Cat.”

In this book, a family decides to search for riches in the Klondike but a little boy doesn’t want to leave his cat behind. So he smuggles the cat along and the suspense is whether the boy will succeed in bringing the cat all the way to the Klondike and what will happen when his parents find out.

Since the history of the Klondike is often ignored by too many American students, “The Klondike Cat” gives you one way to learn about history through concern for a cat. Perhaps if history and other school topics were taught through a cat, education would be a lot more interesting.
