When the front door of their house didn’t close properly, Ruca Abbot lost her 18-month old cat Lily, who had never been outside. The family searched frantically for Lily, not realizing that she had hidden inside the neighbor’s bumper.

The neighbor took off for a car trip and suddenly noticed a furry tail sticking out. After unsuccessful attempts to lure the cat failed, the neighbor drove to a local shelter where authorities pulled the cat to safety and found her microchip. Then they reunited Lily with her frantic family.

Now Lily’s safe at home and likely never to go on another car ride unless she’s inside the car this time.
