In 2016, a woman lost her cat named Queenie. Two years later, an animal shelter found her cat and scanned it for a microchip, which led them to reuniting the woman with her cat once more.

Since Queen appeared healthy and well cared for, it appears that Queenie was cared for by humans. When Queenie got picked up and taken to the shelter, there was no identification of any kind on her except for the microchip embedded under her skin.

Now Queenie and her owner are back together again, which shows how important a microchip can be in helping lost pets reunite with their owners even after several years.
