According to theĀ 2017-2018 American Pet Products Association’s National Pet Owners Survey, almost half of US households (47%) own a cat. of course if you own a cat, you have to name it so it’s not surprising that many people are giving their cats names that they might give a human baby as well.

Some popular cat names include Stella, Gracie, Simba, and Loki. Just as names help define people, names can help define animals too so name your cat well. If you’re still at a loss for what to name your cat, watch its behavior for a while and then give it a name that captures its most dominant characteristic like Dances with Wolves.

Remember, you can name your cat anything you want so choose a name that won’t make people look at you as if you’re totally crazy.
