Harry Bolman is a vegan, which means he won’t eat any foods based on animals. While nobody can fault Harry for what he chooses to eat, Harry also feeds his cat Uma, a diet of vegetables and special vegan cat food.

Now the big question is can a cat live a healthy life on a vegan diet despite being a carnivore?

Cats need animal protein because they require taurine and arginine in their diets – which is only found naturally in meat. That’s why vegan pet food companies around the world have formulated plant-based alternatives to traditional pet food which supplements these two amino acids with synthetic taurine and arginine. As long as a cat is healthy, then it doesn’t really matter what it eats.
