Alexander Zavaliy went to officer school and served in the Red Army. After leaving the military, he studied art at Kuban State University where he took up painting and drawing. While he’s worked as professional illustrator, some of his most interesting art includes portraying Russo-Soviet military history using cats.
Beyond putting cats in military uniforms, Alexander also focuses on military authenticity which gives his art a realistic appearance as if cats could have actually been on the battlefield during that historical time period.
