Palmerston is the official Foreign Office mouser whose job is to rid the premises of rodents. Unfortunately, Palmerston seems to have run out of mice to chase. That’s why Palmerston was recently photographed stealing a duckling from its mother and killing it.
While cats can look cute and cuddly, they look at lot less friendly if you happen to be a bird or a mouse. Nobody cares if Palmerston kills mice, but somehow the idea of Palmerston killing a duckling might be going too far. Perhaps Palmerston can claim diplomatic immunity.
