Many people are putting cucumbers behind their cats and filming the cat’s reaction when it spots the cucumber behind it. Usually the cat freaks out and runs in terror. However, cats aren’t afraid of cucumbers. Cats are afraid of what cucumbers look like because cucumbers remind cats of snakes.
Cats have a built-in fear of snakes so seeing a cucumber so close by triggers the cat’s fear instinct to jump away. Knowing this, please don’t terrify your cat with a cucumber. It might look funny on video, but it’s scary for your cat so let your cat live in peace.
