Meatloaf is a 30-pound cat that wound up in the animal shelter at Iowa after his older owners were no longer able to care for him. Apparently his previous owners fed him human food, which contributed to Meatloaf’s massive bulk.

Because Meatloaf is reportedly “cranky” and needs to go on an immediately regiment of diet and exercise, nobody wanted to adopt him. Then an Iraqi veteran, suffering form PTSD, decided to visit Meatloaf and the two bonded immediately.

Now Meatloaf as a new home and an Iraqi vet as a new companion to help him adjust to his civilian life back home.
