Sadly, people still believe black cats are bad luck, which means black cats get adopted less often than cats of other colors, despite the fact that the color of a cat doesn’t make a difference in any way compared to the personality of that cat.
Fortunately, many people do prefer black cats for many reasons. One reason is that on the TV show “Sabrina: The Teenage Witch,” Sabrina had a sassy talking black cat named Salem who many felt was the real star of the show.
With more positive black cat references in popular culture, perhaps more people will adopt black cats too. In the meantime, consider adopting any cat, even black ones because any cat can be a loving animal no matter what its age or color might be.
