If you thinking feeding a cat is simple, you may be wrong. Most people simply put out a bowl of food on the floor for their cat that consists of dried cat food with some canned cat food to go along with it. However, this may not be the best way to feed your cat.
The Consensus Statement, published in the Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery, explores the medical, social, and emotional problems that can result from the manner in which most cats are currently fed. The report says that cats are used to hunting and foraging for food, so they recommend that you cater to these instincts and let your cat hunt for its food in various ways to keep it stimulated.
Who knew feeding a cat could be so complicated? Then again, who knew taking care of a cat could be so complicated?
