After the success of “Wonder Woman,” movie studios are rushing female driven superhero movies into production. Sony is currently trying to get their “Black Cat” superhero movie into production.
If you don’t know about the “Black Cat,” essentially she’s part of Spiderman’s world where she creates bad luck to anyone who crosses her path. Since Sony owns the rights to Spiderman, they also own the rights to any Spiderman characters as well.
The big problem is that the “Black Cat” is similar to “Cat Woman” from DC Comics. How Sony can make a “Black Cat” movie that appeals to comic book fans and still have a complete movie based on a minor character from the Spiderman universe remains to be seen. Still, it’s a positive development for women and cats in general.
