Cats not only have an amazing ability to land on their feet, but some cats have fallen from as high as 32 stories up and survived. Surprisingly, cats survive great heights by not landing on their feet.
Scientists report that past seven stories, cats survive by spreading their bodies out like a skydiver to slow their fall. Then to avoid breaking their legs, they land on their bellies, risking broken ribs and collapsed lungs, but often surviving with no further serious injuries.
