They say when couples live together, they start looking like each other. If this can happen to people, it should happen with cats and their owners as well. Of course, people don’t start looking like their cats (and vice versa), but recent research hints that cats and owners start to share the same personality.

The University of Liverpool’s research suggests that your cat’s personality likely matches your own, which means you must like coughing up hairballs periodically on the rug too. Researchers measured five personality traits in cats, known as the “Feline Five”: friendliness, spontaneity, dominance, neuroticism, and extroversion.

Apparently cat owners are drawn to cats who mirror their personalities. So if you think your cat is selfish and arrogant, that might just be a reflection of who you are.
