Chester, a cat in Scotland, weighed more than 50% above his ideal weight at 7.6kg before slimming down to 6.3kg over six months. Chester’s owners thought he had a medical problem but it turned out he simply ate too much and didn’t exercise enough.

To help Chester lose weight, the PSDA animal charity runs an annual contest where they help an overweight animal get down to a healthy and reasonable weight. The charity estimates over 40% of cats and dogs in the United Kingdom are obese.
