Artists tend to push the boundaries to evoke a reaction from the public and the late Carolee Schnemann is no exception. Considered a visionary multidisciplinary artist, Carolee produced a 9 minute video showing her open-mouth kissing her cat, an intimate and hypnotizing work entitled Infinity Kisses.
The cat would crawl into bed and instigate the kisses while Carolee would film the event and discuss the sensuous agency of a pet cat along with the taboo issues of physical contact between a human and an animal. Considering that most cats are better creatures than many human beings, there are worse things you can do than kiss a cat.
