Cats seem to get themselves into places that they can’t easily get themselves out of, which makes you wonder how they managed to survive long enough in the wild to breed. A cat in Philadelphia wound up climbing a telephone pole and getting stuck.
Twelve hours later, the cat was still stuck up there and calls to the fire department, animal rescue, and telephone company went unanswered. Finally, Sandy McLeish, an animal activist, found Maurice German, a Verizon employee, for help. Fortunately, Maurice took the time to rescue the cat and bring it safely back to the ground, which goes to show that there are plenty of wonderful people around willing to help out those in need.
