Bubba the cat decided to climb a 30-foot-tall cedar tree and wouldn’t come down despite pleading from his owner, Christine Conte. After 36 hours and two snowstorms went by, the cat remained howling in the trees.

That’s when a Fairfield arborist, Mark Reiland, got wind of the situation and offered to be there within the hour to try to rescue the cat. Reiland used a climbing harness and helmet to get near the cat, toss it in a pillow case, and bring it safely down.

Hopefully the cat will stay out of trees but knowing how cats behave, it’s likely to get stuck in another tree before long anyway.
