Cats chase mice and usually rodents just run in terror to get away from a cat. Yet if mice would just use math, they would be able to determine the optimum escape strategy to get away from a pursuing cat.
By using vectors, mice could pursue a straight line strategy or a circular strategy, depending on where the mouse might be in relation to a safe area. Of course, if cats started using math, they would be able to identify a rodent’s optimal strategy and then block it, which shows you the importance of learning and using math.
