Cathy Appelbee once owned a cat named Wilbur. Unfortunately when Cathy brought home a pair of kittens five years ago, Wilbur decided his home wasn’t big enough for all of them so he decided to roam around Ruddington, which has embraced him as the King of Ruddington.
To celebrate Wilbur’s 10th birthday, the village decided to hold two birthday parties. The first party will take place at the Nottingham Building Society on 5 July and the second, larger public party will take place at the Frame Breakers pub on 14 July. If you happen to be in town on those dates, drop by and wish Wilbur a happy birthday.
