When Royal Canadian Mounted Police Sgt. Janelle Shoihet spoke about the double murder of Lucas Robertson Fowler and Chynna Noelle Deese, an Australian man and American woman, which took place in British Columbia earlier this week a cat filter’s effects appeared. This gave the police officer the appearance of cat ears and whiskers.

Obviously this wasn’t intentional and was totally inappropriate given the severity of the topic, but this wasn’t the first time a cat filter got turned on by mistake. Last month, Pakistani regional minister Shaukat Yousafzai had a press briefing that displayed a cat filter as well.

Perhaps if TV turned on cat filters while reporting about politicians, more people might be interested in politics.
