In the world of cats and dogs, people take sides on which pet is most popular. So if you’re looking to live in the state with the most cat ownership, you would need to head to Vermont where 45% of households own a cat. Maine is a close second with 44% ownership.
Strangely, Rhode Island is the state with the lowest cat ownership at 17%. Of course, whether you want to own a cat or not, the real question is do you want a cat to own you? As any cat owner can attest, you never really own a cat since the cat sit he boss, so perhaps these statistics should be revised to show how many humans are owned by their cats instead.
