For too long, people have been prejudice against black cats despite the fact that black cats can be just as loving and bossy as cats of any other color. Although many people believe black cats are bad luck, the truth is that any cat can be bad luck, depending on the attitude of the cat.
While people in North America once feared black cats as demons in league with witches, Egyptians revered black cats, partially because cats killed rodents and protected human food supplies.
Pirates even believed that if a cat walked on a ship and stayed, that meant good luck. However if a cat walked on a ship but left, this was a bad sign that meant the ship would sink. This just goes to show you that people can be illogical and irrational at all times.
