Five years ago, 31-year-old Viktor Usov lost his cat Sasha in Portland, Oregon. Then recently he received a call from a shelter saying they had found his cat. Strangely enough, this shelter that found Sasha was located in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

The Santa Fe animal shelter was able to locate Viktor because Sasha had a microchip implanted and fortunately, Viktor hadn’t moved or changed his contact information. So to make sure you can get your cat back if it ever goes missing, get your cat microchipped too. Now the big question is how did Sasha wind up 1,200 miles from home?
