For some odd reason, a “crazy cat lady” has been a cliche used to describe mentally deranged women who collect cats. While not all women collect cats, the “crazy cat lady” term is still popular enough to hurl as an insult at women. The big question is where did this come from?
Cats and women have been linked through witchcraft, but they’ve also been linked through popular culture associations such as Catwoman and the numerous stories about women hoarding cats.
While no one can quite pin down where the “crazy cat lady” term came from, everyone can still agree that cats are adorable creatures that both men and women can love.
